Photoshop Postcard

I chose the file format JPG for a few reasons. This file format works good with photographs and images containing many colors. This file format works better for graphic programs such as Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop, that allows you to view the image in good quality. I used two original images in this assignment. The first original image I used was for my background. This picture consisted of a sunset on a beach. And the second original image I used consisted of a women at a spa, relaxing. The size of the background image in pixels is 590 (width) 392 (height). I had this idea to make this post card 'Relaxation is Key' because of school. School can be a very stressful environment where you cannot focus if you're stressed immensely. If you are relaxed and non-stressed however, the student can focus and succeed in work, tests, etc. In creation of this postcard, my steps included; (1) opening the 'beach' image file I had saved in my Home Drive. (2) Open the 'woman in spa' image in a separate page in Photoshop that I also had saved in my Home Drive. (3) I transferred the 'woman in spa' image onto the 'beach' image using the move tool. (4) I used the lasso tool to outline the woman's face I wanted to include in the post card. (5) In the masks panel, I clicked on the 'Add a pixel mask' button making a mask appear. (6) I feathered and smoothed out the mask by clicking the 'mask edge' button in the mask panel and choosing how I want my mask image to look like. (7) The last step I used was clicking on the 'text' button in the tool bar on the left hand side and typed in the words "Relaxation is Key" before customizing the lettering to my liking. After all of these steps, the final product was made as shown above.
